Outreach
Our Outreach Committee embodies Christ’s call to love our neighbours, both near and far. Guided by compassion and a desire to make a meaningful difference, Outreach strives to support individuals and families in our local community, across Ontario, throughout Canada, and around the globe. Throughout the year we host events to raise funds to support our outreach partners. Past events have included
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
Caribbean Night
Funeral Receptions
Our Mission
The Outreach Committee seeks to be a light in the darkness and a source of hope and encouragement to those who need it most. With faith as our foundation, we work to meet the needs of the vulnerable, promote justice, and build partnerships that foster lasting change.
Local Outreach
In our community, we partner with:
Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities (SCHC) – supporting their vital services with volunteer hours, donations, and active engagement.
Feed Scarborough – helping combat food insecurity through donations and drives.
All Saints Community Centre – collaborating to assist those facing homelessness and other challenges.
Other local shelters and service organizations
We are expanding our local initiatives to include:
Volunteer support at the SCHC Food Bank and Clothing Bank.
Organizing food drives to replenish essential supplies.
Collecting egg cartons and other materials to support local service organizations.
National and Global Outreach
Beyond our local efforts, we remain committed to sharing God’s love on a broader scale:
National Support: For many years, we have faithfully supported the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF) now known as Alongside Hope. Through this partnership, we contribute to disaster relief, development projects, and advocacy for vulnerable populations.
International Support: Through Compassion Canada, we sponsor children: providing them with opportunities for education, healthcare, and spiritual growth. These relationships span years of dedicated care and connection, reflecting our commitment to fostering global change.
A Community of Hope
Outreach at St. Dunstan is not merely about fundraising—it is about rolling up our sleeves and working together as God’s hands and feet in the world. Whether through prayer, donations, or hands-on volunteering, we invite you to join us in this sacred mission. Together, we can shine Christ’s light into the lives of those most in need.
